Music news Freedumb Fest at The Blak Casl in Stone Mountain starts tonight

Without warning (or promotion) the good folks at Sounds from the Pocket and Le Chateau Noir (A.K.A The Black House, or le Chateau Noir) in Stone Mountain are hosting yet another of their infamous three-day Freedumb noise / music festivals this weekend. The music starts tonight. This one is dubbed FDF2012.
These events are not for the faint of heart and generally feature scattered performances by noisy and subversive artists from all over the spectrum performing in various rooms throughout Le Chateau Noir (A.K.A. Blak Casl), which is actually a big house at the end of a very dark and scary dirt road off of a cul-de-sac in Stone Mountain.
Most shows happen in a marathon-style. For example, when group A finishes their set in the dining room, group B fires up over by the bathroom or in the storage room.
The fest is $5 each night and takes place at 550 A South Rays Rd. in Stone Mountain, GA 30083. Making your way there can be a bit harrowing, and finding the house for the first time feels a bit like a scene from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But the vibe inside is always a lot of fun and the pay off is there.
It’s best to Look on Google maps for directions and instructions on how to get there. At Google Maps type in “Blak Casl google maps” in the search bar, click on user created content, find this house and local eats too, and you’re good to go.
