Music news Mastodon frightens David Letterman

In case you missed it Mastodon played "Oblivion" from Crack the Skye on CBS' Late Show with David Letterman on Friday night.

I heard that in the green room before the taping, brent hinds, angered by a joke made by David Letterman concerning his facial tattoo, chucked a tray of chicken wings at the comedian, prompting a last-minute wardrobe change for Mr. Letterman (and his subsequent admission of his fear of Mastodon). Anyone else hear this rumor?

I doubt they would have made the show if that had happened. ...but, with Letterman, you never know...
