Roll Call: Chris Strawn of Glen Iris

" width=

Who are you?

Chris Strawn.

Describe yourself in three words.

A gentle spirit.

Who — dead or alive — would you most like to meet?

Phil Lynott. A friend of mine once said that he smelled fantastic.

Who would you most like to slap in the face?

I'd like to go back into the Book of Genesis and slap the snake in the face.

What song do you wish you had written?

"Freight Train" by Elizabeth Cotten.

Elvis Costello or Elvis Presley?

Uh... "Lipstick Vogue", "Kentucky Rain"... It's probably a dead heat.

LP, CD or MP3?

LPs. Also, MP3s recorded to cassette tape in real time, that's what I end up mostly listening to while I drive.

If you could start one trend, what would it be?

We need more outlandish recreational watercrafts this Summer.

If you could end one trend, what would it be?

Here are two: hair-punk and tapas.

With whom would you most like to play a game of spin the bottle?

The Ajax Lady from Up In Smoke.

"Horseless" mp3

Glen Iris plays 529 with GPWFLY and Can Can. Mon., June 15. Free. 9 p.m.
