About 2 and a half miles past Your Dekalb Farmer’s Market on East Ponce, across the tracks from a little brick church, lies Clarkston’s Records Galore. The shop has been open since 1981, and judging by the near-bare walls and dingy ceiling, the owner has made little changes since then. Score one for historic preservation. The tiny space is crammed with records, most of the crates marked “rock and soul.” Records Galore may not carry the latest Pitchfork-buzzed album, or much of anything — buzzed or otherwise — from the last decade, but the store does maintain a superior collection of classic originals and reissues at some of the best prices in the city.
