Drake to headline BMI showcase

Posted By on Wed, Mar 24, 2010 at 10:01 PM

BMI will be hosting its annual unsigned urban showcase in Atlanta at the Havana Club on April 20. The showcase gives unsigned artists the chance to perform in front of industry big-wigs such as producers Bangladesh, Zaytoven, Def Jam VP/Konvict Muzik co-CEO Abou Thiam, and Interscope senior VP Shawn "Tubbie" Holiday among others. Though the showcase is intended to find new talent, most of the audience will be there for another reason....

That's right, recently deified rapper Drake will be headlining the show, along with Atlanta's own Travis Porter and designated show host Lloyd, who according to MTV recently signed a record deal with Interscope Records. Music will be played by DJ Ruckus (no relation to Uncle Ruckus, I'm sure.) The showcase will also feature performances from the four finalists chosen among the 700 artists who applied to BMI.

While it's an industry-driven event, there are tickets available to the public:

The festivities are open to the public; attendees must be 21 years old with valid identification. For $29.95, limited advance tickets are available; visit http://tinyurl.com/yzdhmkw. For table reservations, please call (404) 261-5151 and ask for Byron Wright or Liz VanGraafeiland.
