Video: Bill Gentry, '19'

Posted By on Wed, Apr 7, 2010 at 10:53 PM

Remember Bill Gentry? Back in ’07 when former CL news editor Scott Freeman wrote about his stepbrother Bill, he described him as "the biggest country-music star you've never heard of."

Things done changed.

Four weeks ago, Gentry's video for the song "19" premiered on Yallwire (trust, they're big-time in the country pop world) and has held down the #1 slot since. Apparently, the song is inspired by the story of Pat Tillman, the NFL player who quit his day job to enlist in the Marines only to lose his life to friendly fire in Afghanistan.

Speaking of country pop, Gentry also owns Wild Bill's, which made the cut for reasons to go OTP in our recent Urban Explorer issue.
