Fahamu Pecou's 15 Project is the sh*t tonight

The first time I went to Atlanta artist Fahamu (the shit!) Pecou's live talk show, the 15 Project, I bumped into David (motherfucking!) Byrne — and he was just an audience member. Needless to say, the 15 Project is one of those must-attend events and tonight's quarterly installment at the Contemporary is no different. Featured guests include not one, not two, but three Atlanta music legends — producer DJ Toomp (Shy D, T.I., Kanye West, Jay-Z) and producer/Dungeon Family founder Rico Wade on the couch, with DJ Kemit (formerly of Arrested Development) manning the wheels — in addition to poet/art critic Jerry Cullum and CL's own editor-in-chief Mara Shalhoup, whose new book BMF: The Rise and Fall of Big Meech and the Black Mafia Family has already entered its second printing.

Some cat who calls himself the Strumming Mummy is also scheduled to perform. I gotta see this. $3-$5. 7 p.m. The Contemporary, 535 Means St. 404-688-1970. www.thecontemporary.org. Join the 15 Project Facebook page for more details. If you can't be there, stream it on livestream.com/the15project.
