Music news Check out Premier's tribute to Guru

Amidst all the crazy ish surrounding the death of legendary MC Guru, his former Gang Starr partner DJ Premier has released a tribute in the form of a two-hour mix (check it out above).
The mix (via Nah Right) is a journey through Guru's career, with Gang Starr and otherwise, and is a great listen on a cloudy Monday. In it, Premier briefly mentions the letter that Guru supposedly wrote on his deathbed, but tastefully declines to get involved in the fracas over the letter's authenticity (for the most part). He does, however, get in a shot at Solar, accusing him of neglecting the comatose Guru. "The fucked up thing is, he died alone," Premier intones, obviously upset.
Regardless of the controversy, Premier's respect for his fallen friend is palpable, and his tribute mix is a wonderful look back at one of rap's best.
