Toro Y Moi is the alias by which 23-year old Columbia, South Carolina native Chaz Bundick explores an ever-evolving approach to crafting pop/dance/electro ambiance. His first forays into recording began as a bedroom experiment and, as such, theres no single trajectory for his output. In one instance hes dabbling in areas of freaky folk rumination. In another hes cranking out old school rock and roll. In yet another, hes wandering through dreamy drones and atmospheric pop harmonics of the post-Animal Collective realm, which seems to be his strong point thus far. Blessa, the opening number from his February 2010 debut, Causers of This (Carpark) is one of these latter, blissful numbers.
Theres a stream-of-consciousness practicality to his work that makes sense on a subconscious level. When Toro Y Moi opens for Caribou at The Earl on Thurs., May 13 he will be performing with a full band line-up, which is kind of a new experience for Bundick. His latest single, the "Leave Everywhere" b/w "First Date" 7-inch (due out July 20) is said to find the group fixating on the classic rock and roll form, which is a hard left from the dissected dance pop of Causers of This (Carpark), and will reveal yet another dimension of what Bundick has up his sleeve.
$15. 8:30 p.m. The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Rd. 404-522-3950.

Yes, 14 is the correct answer. I'll pass your info along to the group's manager,…
That was January of 2007, and they are 21 now, so I'm guessing 14?
