Fri., June 11 — Magnapop, the Polar Dunes, Water Liars. Looking back over Magnapop’s career is like delving into a time capsule for the Atlanta music scene, wrapped in what can only be called a legacy of sugar-sweet pop songs. Their latest CD, Chase Park follows the classic, hook-driven format of 2-3 minute songs that build around clutter-free riffs, melodies and glossy production. Locals Water Liars and The Polar Dunes set the stage for this formal Chase Park CD release party. $7. 9 p.m.
The Highland Inn Ballroom Lounge
644 North Highland Ave. 404-874-5756.
Sat., June 12 — Little Tybee, Book of Colors, Big Tree, DJ and the Bear (at midnight). Atlanta chamber pop five-piece Little Tybee are starting to make big waves with the soft, string and piano-driven songs that materialized with last year’s self-released full-length, Building a Bomb. The tone of the album is charming as each song dabbles in ‘60s country pop melodies and a sweetly experimental aesthetic. Book of Colors plays wistful, art pop numbers that are primitive by design but vast in scope and atmosphere. Big Tree opens. DJ and the Bear start spinning records at midnight. $5. 8:30 p.m.

3 people apparently love handing over an extra 40% in fees for nothing in return…
Dang. I thought they would name some actual headliners.
Forgot to mention that Iggy did a stellar show @ the Agora in the spring…
Their fees were onerous, to say the least. $16 per ticket for "convenience," and it's…
That poster is for the Iggy Pop show on March 11 1983 @ 688 club…
oh sweet: just who i was waiting to get announced!
