Gucci talks 'second chances', The Appeal

Posted by Gabe Vodicka on Wed, Jul 21, 2010 at 3:58 PM

In the above clip (via), Gucci Mane talks with a Yahoo! Music interviewer about getting out of jail and what's in store for the near future. Gooch's new album has been in the works for some time, but now it has a full official title and a release date. The Appeal: Georgia's Most Wanted is tentatively set to drop August 31, though we all know how these things go.

The Yahoo! interview is pretty awkward, but it's got some choice quotes. On the intended message of The Appeal, Gucci posits:

It's about second chances, about never giving up. It's about the hood...It's about taking something small and turning it into something big.

But then the interviewer ruins it by comparing Gucci's post-lockup resurgence to Will Smith circa "Fresh Prince", at which point you can almost see Gucci cringe through his shades. Although, thinking about it, Fresh Prince of Atlanta sounds like a pretty good nickname for Mr. Davis. Yeah, let's run with that.
