So, the Onion's A.V. Club has this pretty cool thing going on called "Undercover", where they devised a master list of 25 classic songs and invited a hodgepodge of up-and-coming and well-established artists to come in and record a cover version. Above, the resurgent Superchunk takes on "In Between Days" from the Cure's classic 1985 LP The Head on the Door. 'Chunk! Cure! So much legendary awesomes!
The "Undercover" series has some other neato covers, like Ted Leo doing Tears For Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". There are also some, erm, interesting choices. Superchunk's new missive, Majesty Shredding, is out September 14.

Anyone else disappointed with how Undercover has turned out? What seemed like a fascinating concept at the beginning of the summer has only managed to churn out a lot of uninspired covers (with a few notable exceptions).
Gotta say I agree with you, nast. There are a few on there that are near-cringeworthy. But, again, some good ones.
