When we first reported on Erykah Badu's controversial video for her tune "Window Seat" (above), there was some speculation that Dallas city officials might attempt to levy a punishment against the neo-soul chanteuse for getting all naked in public. And now, the AP says that Jay Electronica's baby mama has paid a $500 fine and will serve six months of probation on a disorderly conduct charge stemming from the fateful nude clip. Several onlookers brought formal complaints against the singer when she began to strip down in Dallas' Dealey Plaza.
So let me get this straight: the only reason Badu was charged is because people complained? Seriously? You don't wanna see Erykah Badu naked? Weak, Dallas. Real weak. Anyway, let me go on record as saying I support Erykah Badu's right to bare all any time she wants, anywhere. Let me reiterate: anywhere.
In a related matter, Badu's set at Chastain this past Saturday was cut short because she dared take the stage a bit late. Homegirl can't catch a break, amiright?
Clearly they make you like feel the music bro
