KarenCivil's got the stream/download for a brand spankin' new track from Atlanta trap star Pill. "Blow Up" retains some familiar Pillisms - the skittering drum beat, to name one - but is by far the most radio friendly tune he's showcased in his young career, thanks largely to the generic, syrupy hook from labelmate Iyaz.
What does this mean for the rest of Pill's upcoming debut LP, The Medicine? It all depends on to what extent dude can keep the label at bay, I suppose. That said, "Blow Up" contains its share of lyrical gems - though its drugs-and-money subject matter keeps it pretty trite overall. As you can tell, I'm conflicted. What do y'all think?
