Nice Moves, a new monthly at Sound Table, kicks off tonight featuring DJs Lewis, Cameron Corey and Cole Burns. Nate Shuman, who tends bar at spots across town but has been involved in the electronic music scene for more than a decade and DJs as Lewis, promises "a very choice selection of beats aimed straight at your brains."
There will be a "dinnertime selection" set of slower and lower tracks to get things ramped up, but the tunes will build from there as the crowd transitions from foodie to sound connoisseur. Expect to hear tracks from the likes of Dabrye, Giant Panda, Dam-Funk, DJ Krush and DJ Cam — artists who are rarely represented in your typical DJ set.
Check the equally entertaining promo by Philthy Soft Pretzels/Film Works below.
Nice Moves. Free. Dinnertime selections start at 6 p.m.; live DJs start at 10. Sound Table, 483 Edgewood Ave. www.thesoundtable.com.
