Wilson Pickett exhibit opens tomorrow

Creative Loafing contributor and author Scott Freeman (Otis! The Otis Redding Story, Midnight Riders: The Story of the Allman Brothers Band) will speak about the career and impact of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Wilson Pickett at tomorrow's opening for the exhibit, In the Midnight Hour: The Life and Legacy of Wilson Pickett.

The exhibit — a collaboration between Pickett's family and curator Kenneth Green of Spelman College — runs through Oct. 15 at Auburn Avenue Research Library.

Free. 7 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 9. Auburn Avenue Research Library, 101 Auburn Ave. Cary-McPheeters Gallery, 1st Floor. 404-730-4001.
