On Fri., Oct. 15 Atlanta prog thrashers From Exile will play their first show since Nov. of 2007. The time in the void is due mostly to personnel changes within the band's lineup, and the solid year-and-a-half they spent recording their latest album, Monolith, which surfaced in Dec. of '09. Singer/guitarist Eric Guenther also spent some time playing keyboards on the self-titled Daath record which due out Tues., Oct. 26. Somewhere in there Guenther also found time to play keyboards on Daath guitarists Levi/Werstler's album, Avalanche of Worms. Oh, and From Exile has also been at work putting together a a free NIN covers digital EP coming out early next year.
Time hasn't really been a luxury for From Exile, but they're back on track now as a 5-piece, and ready for rebirth at the Goat Farm Friday night.
This Piano Plays Itself also performs. Free. 9 p.m. 1200 Foster St.

"Punk" style like this seems like it is the polar opposite of punk. Bradford Cox…
They're kind of starting to look like a joke of themselves. Song's good though.
