Off Beat / On the Download jj take T.I. to Sweden

The Swedish dream pop duo jj have made a name for themselves online by making ethereal versions hip-hop hits. With their digital single “Let Them,” they’ve offered up their interpretation of T.I.’s “Let ‘Em Talk.” Now T.I. is no stranger to being covered, but jj take his track and transform it into something eerily beautiful that involves a modified version of Akon’s “Right Now (Na Na Na)” for some reason. Still, for a group that sampled whale noises on their version of Lollipop, this is tame.
The single also includes the track “I’m the One/Money On My Mind,” which may or may not be a reference to songs by Mary J. and Lil Wayne, but is definitely built around former tourmates The XX’s “Intro.”
