One year on, remembering Vic Chesnutt

Posted By on Mon, Dec 27, 2010 at 3:34 PM

The folks at The Day Jobs have been memorializing the late Vic Chesnutt with a series of archived live sets and various tributes like the one above - a video courtesy filmmaker Scott Stuckey that features footage of Vic alongside friends and collaborators eulogizing the Athens songwriter and celebrating his myriad contributions to the world of independent music.

A year later, the pain of losing such a beautifully talented soul still runs deep in the Georgia music community and, judging by countless heartbroken YouTube comments, beyond. But this video makes one half-comforting thing clear: Vic Chesnutt's legacy will be a strong and lasting one.

Bonus video of Vic performing the fiery, rocking "Everything I Say" after the jump.
