'Dilla Changed My Life' tribute tomorrow at Sound Table

Posted By on Thu, Feb 10, 2011 at 1:34 PM

Whether you realize it or not, James Yancey, aka J Dilla, probably changed your life, too. He was just that musically pervasive.

Recent Sound Table NYE guest Benji B opens up his BBC show with a star-studded-drop roundup of Dilla tracks. Good music in honor of an incredible artist who passed away five years ago today. (Big ups to ST's Karl Injex for the Benji link.)

The FB event link has tons of Dilla videos worth checking, too, including this one:

$5, with proceeds being donated to the J Dilla Foundation. DJs Applejac, Karl Injex, DJ Jamad, Daz-I-Kue + others. Free 'donuts' while supplies last. 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11. The Sound Table, 483 Edgewood Ave.
