He’s back, I say! And he’s been announced as the curator of All Tomorrow’s Parties’ UK festival happening this December (in “Butlins, Minehead, Somerset,” whatever that means. That’s not a real place). But wait! There’s more! The Athens songwriter and onetime J.D. Salinger of indie rock has announced a string of solo dates in the northeastern United States this fall. The acts Mangum has already booked for ATP include some fellow Elephant 6 legends, including the Olivia Tremor Control and Apples in Stereo, as well as the reunited Superchunk and British post-punk luminaries the Raincoats, who’ll be performing their self-titled debut in its entirety.
