Brian Hurst, the U.K.-based host of "The Hurst Selection: London to Atlanta" that airs locally on WCLK-FM (91.9), is in town to hit the decks tonight, along with WCLK's Jamal Ahmad, Cha-Cha Jones and Apple Jac for the second installment of "London to Atlanta LIVE!"
The inaugural edition in mid-January was a good, groove-worthy time. I especially enjoyed hearing Ahmad mix up the most danceable tracks that I might hear on his "The S.O.U.L. of Jazz" show (weekdays from 2-6 p.m.). It's one thing to catch a vibe in your car or at work, but having the opportunity to dance as Ahmad, Ms. Jones, Apple Jac and Hurst spin live makes the school-night/late-night excursion worth it.
And do be prepared to stay a bit late, as Hurst didn't go on till nearly 1 a.m. last month. Again, it's worth the wait — and you certainly won't be disappointed in the meantime.
There's likely to be a live in-store meet-and-greet at Moods Music on Friday with the DJs from tonight's event, plus a few others.
$10. 10 p.m. The Sound Table, 483 Edgewood Ave.
*Christ, Lord sorry
"Punk" style like this seems like it is the polar opposite of punk. Bradford Cox…
They're kind of starting to look like a joke of themselves. Song's good though.
All 80s movies want you...
Their show with Chris, Lord about 3 years at the Unicorn was the best.
I am a connoisseur of this real soul music like the comment above I'm glad…
