Check out what Speakeasy is pushin'

In what has to be one of the more utilitarian marketing moves that a local promoter has pulled off, Speakeasy Promotions and DJ Grizzly have put together the first in a series of monthly mixtapes featuring music from shows that Speakeasy is pushing. Promoter Brannon Boyle hand picks songs by the best and brightest bands that he has booked over the coming months and Grizzly smashes them all into one mega mix. The first edition, titled Speakeasy Vol. XI, is posted and available as a free download.

From the top it's a solid lineup of mostly locals, along with a few national acts including 4-ize, A Grimes, the Ruination, Ott, Clan Destined, M.O.P., Moon Duo, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Noot D' Noot, Lyric Jones and many more. If anything the mix highlights a grip of Atlanta's rising underground hip-hop acts, as well as a few other things, and it's pretty much all quality stuff.
