London to Atlanta LIVE! featuring soul and groove on vinyl at Sound Table

U.K. syndicated radio show host Brian Hurst and his colleague Jamal Ahmad of WCLK-FM (91.9) will be putting the needle to the record — literally — this evening at Sound Table for "Vinyl Matters," the fourth installment of London to Atlanta LIVE!

Their Soul and Jazz project, which includes a record label, recently released a compilation featuring the likes of Avery Sunshine — who Hurst says will be in the building tonight, still excited from news that she'll be featured on the BBC.

Expect sounds you typically don't hear outside of Ahmad's "The S.O.U.L. of Jazz" show, or the Soul and Jazz podcasts. Out of the 30-plus records he carried on from his flight to Atlanta, Hurst hints he may play everything from Fatback to Patrice Rushen, Phyllis Hyman, War and who knows what else.

$10. 10 p.m. The Sound Table, 483 Edgewood Ave.
