A: The Color is in the company of Gentlemen

One of the latest rock outfits to arrive on the Atlanta scene, A: The Color has been working diligently to get its music noticed. When Favorite Gentleman Records co-president and Manchester Orchestra frontman Andy Hull caught one of the group’s shows back in March, he told the band to “keep in touch.” A few weeks later, A: The Color was the newest band to join the label’s roster.

Guitarist and lead man Zach Beachum describes Favorite Gentleman as being more of an artist community and family. “No record deals,” he says. “They just help out however they can.” With more than 80 songs written, the band is ready to produce a debut full-length and is currently recording at Aria Recording Studio with Joey Jones, who’s also currently recording a new Royal Thunder LP.

A: The Color’s most impressive feature is undoubtedly Beachum’s guitar work, and his ability to write songs that blend rock sounds that span decades.

Give a listen to “Red Gold” to get an idea of what Beachum’s style is all about.
