The first single from Gold-Bears debut full-length, Are You Falling In Love (due out May 17 on CD and LP on Slumberland Records), hit the Internet today via RCDLBL. The song is an upbeat number called “Record Store” and it’s a chapter that fits into the album’s larger picture, which is all about the natural waxing and waning of a boy/girl relationship.

?
Guitarist and vocalist Jeremy Underwood tells us more:

?
“The song is about being lost in your own world and finally finding someone you can relate to. In this case the protagonist is a big music junky who’s created his own world in the music he loves, finding solace in records and even sort of making sense of the world and this current situation through specific songs in his record collection. There are a few references to classic indie pop tunes in the lyrics. BUT I don’t think it’s a gimmicky song. It’s really just about love, which the whole album is about.”

?
Gold-Bears play an album release party at 529 on Fri., May 13, with Small Reactions and New Animal. $5. 9 p.m. 529 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-228-6769.
