Three hypnotic locals take over the Earl

Posted by Chad Radford on Fri, Apr 29, 2011 at 12:32 PM

File this under one of the exotic shows going on around town tonight. Qurious, Mathis Hunter & the Rinse and Adron are all on the bill at the Earl.

Qurious has a new video for the song, “White Noise (Magnification of the Species),” floating around the Internet, which you can watch above. It's a short, two-minute clip, but it's plenty captivating.

Also of note, Mathis Hunter recently rediscovered three tracks for a long lost 7-inch that was supposed to have been released by Solutionist Records a few years back, when he was still playing drums for Selmanaires. When the label folded, these three atmospheric jams were buried and forgotten until now.

It’s important to point out that these songs don’t sound a whole lot like what he’s playing with the Rinse, but they’re cool scores nonetheless.

Adron brings it all to a close with some new songs that she says are a little beachy, a little jazzy and a little bit '70s.

$7. 9 p.m. The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-522-3950.

....and he doesn't stop on Saturday's either. This dude has got absolutely no life. Plus, talk about boring, let's make the same complaints on every post. Where's the originality in that?

I really hope jake1242 is just a big joke....
