Lyonnais joins Hoss Records, preps jarring new mini LP

Posted By on Tue, May 3, 2011 at 2:19 PM

Earlier today Hoss Records announced that it will release a brand-new mini LP (longer than an EP but shorter than a full album) from Atlanta drone/post-punk quartet Lyonnais later this fall. Although this will be the group’s first proper release, it is its second album following the dark majesty of Want for Wish For Nowhere, which the group self-released as a limited-edition cassette (40) and CDR in January, but are still shopping it around. The songs for the new album were recorded in Brooklyn with Falun Gong, aka Hoss Records owner Brad Hurst, and Ryan Rasheed of Prefuse 73, who are currently mixing the songs as well. The title for this forthcoming mini LP has not yet been announced, but it is reported to be much more of a jarring, Swans-esque listen than the atmospheric whir of Want For Wish For Nowhere. Stay tuned for more.
