With summer kicking into high gear, it's important to have a steady diet of fresh tunes to stave off the absolutely oppressive summer heat. With that in mind, Atlanta label Nophi Records has released a summer mixtape via the latest installment of their podcast series. The first virtual side of the tape features new singles by up-and-coming bands, including Atlanta's Vegan Coke and label founder R_Garcia. The tape's second side is themed around surfing, spotlighting deep cuts from the Dead Milkmen and the Clash, among others.

In more Nophi news, R_Garcia announced the release date and payment plan for his forthcoming album Resurgens. The record will be released on a "name your price" system, with different rewards for customers that pay a certain amount of money. For instance, $1 or more gets you a digital copy of the record, while a $10 purchase comes with a CD. Fans that donate $100 or more will receive both digital and physical copies, a handmade t-shirt, and a song custom written in their honor. Not a bad deal all in all.
