Watch the Throne drops Aug. 8 on iTunes and everywhere on Aug. 12 — unless you’re after the deluxe version, in which case you’ll have to go to Best Buy until it’s available elsewhere on Aug. 23. Indie retailers, including Eric Levin (Criminal Records owner and head of the Alliance of Independent Media Stores), aren’t particularly thrilled about that. Billboard covered the Alliance’s open letter to Jay-Z and Kanye last week.
Correction: After emailing Miss Lady Millz to request permission to run her “Janye” photo mashup, she informed me that she isn’t the designer of the piece. She only added an effect to the manipulation and put the words on top.
