A week before the August 9 release of his forthcoming Ferrari Boyz collab with 1017 Brick Squad cohort Gucci Mane, rapper Waka Flocka Flame was busted Tuesday for possession of marijuana, according to TMZ.

“… Waka was pulled over for a routine traffic violation a few hours ago ... but when cops approached the rapper’s White Chevy Tahoe, they could smell the odor of weed.

We’re told Waka was asked to step out of the vehicle — and was placed in handcuffs. When cops searched the ride, officers say they found “a small amount of marijuana” on the floor.

Waka was cited for possession of less than 1 ounce of weed AND failure to wear a seat belt. He was eventually released and sent on his way. We’re told Waka was “very cooperative” during the incident.” Continue reading.

Waka is no stranger to the weed man. During a recent interview he broke down a Gucci Mane lyric from the song “Stoned” on the Ferrari Boyz CD.

Chad Radford: … The lyrics are “Let’s get stoned. I’m so stoned, like Fred Flintstone I got a partner named Barney and he keep me in the zone.” Who’s Barney?

Waka Flocka Flame: You know what Barney is, right?

CR: He’s Fred Flintstone’s best friend …

WFF: Yeah, but Barney’s in the cup. It’s what you’re drinking when it’s purple, and it could be what you’re smoking. You know, if you have some weed with those purple hairs in it? That’s Barney. Really, it can be a reference to anything that’s purple and green, like Barney the dinosaur.

CR: Oh, so Barney is like some meta-association kind of talk here.
