East Atlanta rocks out with the 5th annual Nophest

nophest.jpg
Remember when music festivals weren't extensions of "extreme" corporate branding? Me neither. But the guys at Nophi Records plan to go back to those "non-corporate, no-bullshit" days. Starting tonight and going through the weekend, three venues in East Atlanta will host the city's underground and experimental music.

CL's own Chad Radford curated tonight's event at the Earl, which he conceptualized as "awesome and bombastic." Performers include the experimental XO (check the crazy lights from their stage show), the dark Hip to Death and the disgusting A. Grimes. The show rounds out with Vegan Coke and The Different Machine.

Nophest. $7.50 per day, $15 all weekend (online only), or $10 per day at the door. August 25-28. 529, the Earl, Eastside Lounge, Joe's Coffee.
