Big Boi goes to bat for a cause close to home

?
A lot of rappers use their names to land huge endorsement deals that feature them in commercials and add a couple of zeroes to their bank accounts. This time, an MC stuck his neck out for a higher cause.

?
The more vocal half of OutKast, Big Boi, spoke with Sway of MTV’s RapFix yesterday about how he got involved with Amnesty International and the Troy Davis protest. As Davis’ scheduled execution for the highly contested 1989 murder conviction of Savannah police officer Mark MacPhail drew late into last night, Big stayed active on Twitter while rallying with Killer Mike, Rev. Al Sharpton and hundreds of Davis supporters outside the Jackson, Ga. prison.
