Ben Worley, or as most folks in the local music scene know him, Bean Summer, the former Lenny’s booking agent and long-time saving grace, has a solo video/print exhibition on display at Get This! Gallery called SYNTHESIZ. The show incorporates a handful of musical performances with live video mixing over the weeks ahead. Tonight at 8:30 p.m. Cole Alexander of Black Lips will perform as part of the show under his solo moniker, Old King Cole Younger.

SYNTHESIZ, which opened Nov. 11 and runs through January 7, is said to dabble in areas of “post-abstract expressionism.” What’s really happening is a conceptualized blending of contemporary fine art and music. With his background booking Lenny’s, and the fact that Get This! Gallery sits in the location of the former ’90s indie rock club BLT’s, the show already resonates within the local music scene. When juxtaposed with the appropriated/manipulated works of Mark Rothko, Ellsworth Kelly, Marcel Duchamp and more, which Bean has reconstructed as minimalist video pieces, underlying relationships between these multiple parts of the show are revealed.

Other upcoming performances include Carnivores Thurs., Dec. 15 from 8-10 p.m., and a closing reception party with Lyonnais Sat., Jan. 7 from 7-10 p.m.

Free. 8:30 p.m. Get This! Gallery is located at 662 11th. St. 678-596-4451.
