Night Sun (feat. Cole Alexander of Black Lips) debuts tonight

Tonight, Black Lips singer/guitarist Cole Alexander and Curtis Harding — Cee Lo Green's former back-up singer/writer — turn out a rare performance of their spooky, low-fi soul project, Night Sun. In fact this is their first live gig together and they’ve put together a ragtag ensemble of local players to fill out the sound for the night.

Over the last several months Harding and Alexander have been slowly crafting an EP that they've slated for release sometime in the middle of next year — 2012 y’all.

In the meantime, here’s the first sneak peak at what they've got up their sleeve titled “On My Way.”

"On My Way"

Bradford Cox is opening the show with a reportedly improv jazz-inspired set. Most of the people performing tonight will get a few minutes on the turntables between sets as well.

Could be one of those historic nights ...

Free. 9 p.m. 529. 529 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-228-6769.
