When London-based dubstep DJ/producer Flux Pavilion swung through Atlanta on his first int'l tour last June, the sold-out line outside QUAD snaked all the way up Spring Street before spilling out into the rear of Arby's parking lot.
The crowd inside went berserk later that night when he took the booth and played his throbbed-out hit "I Can't Stop." Since then, the song's gone ultra-pop, with Jay-Z and Kanye sampling it for Watch the Throne's "Who Gon Stop Me."
To preview his 2012 LP, Flux has dropped a vid for "Superbad," his latest single with Doctor P. But the man largely responsible for the mainstreaming of wavy subterranean bass switches things up a tad on "Superbad" by incorporating a more musical strain. Live drums and a prominent horn section get pushed to the forefront. But no worries, the bass is still plenty greasy, though slightly less wobbly. As for the video, it's got a ’70s blaxploitation/buddy-cop flick feel to it, like an animated Superfly meets Starsky & Hutch — with Flux playing Hutch, of course.
