As if you needed another reason to take your ass down to the Sound Table, the acclaimed Edgewood Ave. bar/lounge is serving up a super-special night of music this Friday. That’s when London-based singer/producer/cellist Ben Westbeech hits the spot to perform a must-see/hear DJ set.

Fans of U.K. soul and dance music know Westbeech as the guy behind hits like “Get Closer” and “Something for the Weekend” (see below), among many others — as well as being signed to legendary DJ Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings label.

It’s safe to say that Westbeech doesn’t make it to the States much — let alone Atlanta — so missing this visit would be pretty damn stupid. So, go.

$5 cover (with RSVP to westbeech@thesoundtable.com). 11 p.m.-3 a.m. Fri., Jan. 13. The Sound Table, 483 Edgewood Ave. www.thesoundtable.com.
