Amber Rose is an easy target, and we've all taken shots. The paparazzi, the bloggers, the celebrity ex-douchebag of a boyfriend. Since having the pleasure of talking with her — "Why Can't Y'all Let Amber Rose Be Great" — I've been going to bat for this lady. But apparently there are still some haters out there. And it's getting on her last nerve.
She finally broke down crying this week, while talking to Sway on "RapFix Live" (video below the jump), over the toll she's taken from being bullied by Kanye and his dedicated fans. You remember the Chris Rock parody on Ye's MBDTF album: "Yeezy taught me" and all that. Sure, it was funny. But apparently celebrity memes are people, too. And Amb wasn't built for this shit. She's a brick house, not an outhouse.

The interesting thing about Amber Rose is how she's been met with such a sympathetic embrace since opening up to the press in recent months. Reformed gossip shark Wendy Williams, who's chewed up and spat out many a perceived celebrity jump-off, gave her a softball interview on her daytime talk show last year. Even Williams' former radio sidekick Charlamagne Tha God, who's also been known to bring pop stars to tears with his biting wit and blunt humor, went fairly easy on her when she recently sat in with the Breakfast Club on New York's Power 107.
When talking to her last month, I got the sense that she isn't a bitch — which is saying a lot of you've only heard Kanye's side of the story for the last year. She doesn't talk as if she's been media-trained to death. She seems less interested in perpetrating a fraud than in keeping it Philly real. She also doesn't seem quick to exploit the details of her private life for further exposure, a lá Karrine Stephans' "Superhead" come-up.
If anything, the ex-stripper seems more comfortable hiding her vulnerabilities behind couture shades. There's something human about that. As if her will to brand herself into a pop culture icon is only half-hearted, motivated by opportunity more than ego. She sounds more critical of herself and her own failure to adjust, on her pop debut "Fame," feat. boyfriend Wiz, when she sings: "Scrutinized, being blind / -sided by all the lights."
Of course, it could all be a masterful act on her part — her postmodern reinterpretation of the damsel in distress. And maybe that would explain why Kanye felt the need to save her from Sue's Rendezvous in the first place. But considering the acting we've seen from Amber thus far, it pains me to say her tears are the real deal.

Smh at RC savin these hos. lol.
Yea, this is all fucked up. She seems like a simple, unpretentious girl that got thrust into the spotlight without really asking for it, but now that she's in it, just trying to go with the flow and make the best of it. I'm forced to root for her now.
