As CL's tireless link compiler/ideas man Spencer Sloan reported in his latest Tracklist, the indisputable Greatest Songwriter of All Time Mr. Neil Young recently posted a 37-minute video to his website with raw audio of a sprawling studio jam featuring none other than inimitable Young compatriots Crazy Horse. Unsurprisingly, it's fucking great.
Last week Young dropped the news that he'd been working on new material with the group, who've long been associated with Young but who haven't been credited on an album since 2003's fair-to-middling Greendale (if this audio is any clue, they've stepped their game up since). One album is reportedly completed, with another in the works. Wowza! I think I speak for all Young fans when I say that this is glorious news. As is the aforementioned jam sesh, a mostly instrumental medley of psych-infected new material and classic CH tunes like "Cortez the Killer". I'm drinking coffee and listening right now and you don't even wanna see how hard I'm rocking out.
