Why Nikkiya's got a 'Hold On Me'

Here's another tease from Nikkiya in preview of her upcoming March release SpeakHer Overload. This one comes in the form of a simple SupaIllVision-directed visual, released on Valentine's Day, for the Willpower-produced song "Hold On Me." She gets a little naked here — emotionally as well as physically — but keeps it SFW while straddling the fence between being coy and revealing. It's as much a reflection of her songwriting and vocal delivery than anything else. Something about her R&B confessionals instantly turns me into a Catholic priest listening on the other side of the booth as she pours out her story. It's cathartic but also sort of conspiratorial. And by the end, I'm always left feeling cleansed yet kind of dirty.
