If you have not yet made the acquaintance of Turf War, the group’s first video, “Cheers to the Years,” from their debut CD, Years of Living Dangerously, showed up over the weekend and it’s probably the best introduction to this group you’re going to get. ... Outside of seeing them play a live show, of course. They like to drink, they like to party, and they like to play rock ‘n’ roll of the Southern garage punk variety — loud, ragged midtempo rockers that articulate the life and times of a band of buzzed-out twenty-somethings who know the value of not taking themselves too seriously.

... It was directed by Jason Travis, too.

Turf War plays the Earl Sunday, March 11 with Mikal Cronin and Pujol. $8. 8 p.m. 488 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-522-3950.
