“Let’s Get Fake” is the latest offering from PLS PLS — a sacrificial lamb that's been given unto the Internet as a reminder that the group is playing at the Earl this Thurs., March 22 with Gardens & Villa and fellow locals Cloudeater.

This time around Dan Dixon and Co. craft a song that's steeped in nocturnal imagery and some decidedly death-afflicted undercurrents of melancholy and resolve, all the while keeping things accesible. And yes, the Radiohead thing is apparent, but the song avoids the pitfalls of cliché by moving along with a naturally stylistic pace. After all, Dixon has been singing like this for years, and what really makes “Let’s Get Fake” stand out is its balance of haunting melodies and gloomy atmosphere.

PLS PLS, Cloudeater, and Gardens & Villa play the Earl on Thurs., March 22. $10. 8 p.m. 488 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-522-3950.
