R. Kelly’s ‘Trapped in the Closet’ again, with a revealing package

The King of salacious R&B returns with his new episodes of his scandalous hip-hopera. Damn. Damn. Damn

Midgets, gay pastors and stuttering pimps, oh my! Yeah, R. Kelly’s back on that drama. He’s announced a new deal with IFC to re-up on the 22-episode ghetto soap opera “Trapped In the Closet,” introduced musically in 2005 and visualized in 2007. Of course, the humongous elephant in the room during that time was the 14 counts of child pornography the R&B star was finally acquitted of in 2008. The only thing more scandalous than the bootleg copies of that sex-tape — alleged by prosecutors to be Kellz with an underage female who was related to one of his protégées — was his epic “Trapped in the Closet” saga of fornication, adultery and hilarity. It always seemed like such a bad PR/legal move to release it at the time. Kinda like a rapper faced with drug charges incessantly rapping about drugs. But maybe Kellz figured he’d give people something else to gab about besides his personal drama. Still, it’s kind of scary to think that all these characters and their peccadilloes are swirling around in his head. What a perverse genius.
