Animal Collective — Transverse Temporal Gyrus LP (Domino) This record is mostly a collage built from sound pieces that each member of the group created for an installation called “Transverse Temporal Gyrus” that video artist Danny Perez (director of Oddsac and the “Summertime Clothes,” “Who Could Win A Rabbit,” and “You Can Count On Me” videos) put together for the Guggenheim Museum in New York City in March of 2010.
David Bowie — “Starman (Original)” b/w “Starman (live on Top of Pops)” 7-inch picture disc (Virgin Records). This is said to be one of the more hard to find items this year.
Devo — Live in Seattle 1981 2xLP (Booji Boy Records) 1981 was a good year for these guys, and this is kind of like the Lost Ark of live Devo recordings. ... Sort of.
Misfits — “Walk Among Us” 12-inch on red, blue, and clear vinyl (Rhino). For decades the Misfits' 1982 full-length debut has been reissued legitimately and as a bootleg several times over, but it never sticks around for too long.
Shuggie Otis — "Inspiration Information" b/w "Magic" 7-inch (Previously unreleased B-side from Shuggie's personal archive of the “Inspiration information” sessions).
The Pharcyde — Bizzarre Ride II the Pharcyde: The Singles Collection 7x7-inch/CD box set. There’s a ton of Pharcyde paraphernalia stuffed into this collection, including a 120-piece puzzle of the original album art. Also, when the box is opened there’s a recorded voices that says “Oh, shit!” (Delicious Vinyl)
Joey Ramone — “Rock ‘n' Roll is the Answer” b/w “There's Got To Be More To Life” 7-inch (BMG). Some of Joey’s final recordings. If he were still alive he’d be the perfect ambassador for RSD.
Refused — The Shape of Punk to Come ltd. ed. 2xLP on colored vinyl. The quintessential Swedish hardcore band that took all of the greatest ideas that Nation of Ulysses, Swing Kids et. al. ever had and made them more accessible. Still, it’s an awesome record and if you don’t already own it there’s no time like the present. (Epitaph)
Shabazz Palaces — Live at KEXP LP (Sub Pop). It's on beautiful purple vinyl and limited to only 2,000 copies.
Unrest — Perfect Teeth 6x7-inch multi-color vinyl box set. Limited to 750 copies worldwide. Good luck finding this one ... (Teen Beat)Showing 1-6 of 6
