Black Scale and Heroes x Villains collab blends street culture and the occult

Black Scale / Heroes x Villains pop up shop at Space2 closes this Thurs., (May 17)

Image San Francisco-based clothing designers Black Scale have joined forces with Atlanta producer Daniel Disaster of Heroes x Villains to create a pop-up shop, dubbed BLVCK VTL, in the Sound Table’s Space 2, where they’ve launched an Atlanta-inspired Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

?
Black Scale’s style blends elements of urban street culture with underlying themes of occult imagery, i.e., it’s a nice match with Heroes x Villains style, which is why he invited them to Atlanta.

?
Daniel explains: “I’ve been a fan of Black Scale’s aesthetic for quite some time, and they have virtually no presence in Atlanta. So I reached out to Mega who, runs the company. They’re pretty choosey with whom they work as well: They’ve collaborated with A$AP Rocky and Fool’s Gold, and it made sense for both of our brands to come together for a collaboration. The energy was right, so it happened very organically.”

?
Tonight, the shop will be open till 7 p.m. Afterward, Heroes x Villains, Blkk Morris, Curtis Williams, and Reece give a live performance. It’s free and the music starts up around 9 p.m. 485 Edgewood Blvd.

?
The shop has been open since Monday, and will close down tomorrow (Thurs., May 17) at 7 p.m. After that, Heroes x Villains and Blkk Morris play a closing party at the VAVLT at the W Hotel Midtown.
