You can just about count the number of bands still touring after 20 years on one hand, and the Bouncing Souls are one of them. On the heels of their new release Comet, the Bouncing Souls brought their signature mix of melodic punk and street anthems back to the Masquerade for another East Coast throw down.
These guys have been together just about as long as this (not so) young typist has been alive. When I heard they were coming back to Atlanta, nostalgic flashes of high school popped to mind. Bumping along the potted asphalt in a dinged up sedan with busted speakers, punk rock never sounded so good.
And it seems nostalgia brought a lot of people out. Looking over the crowd, there wasn't hardly a person in attendance below the legal drinking age.
