Kilo Ali, raising Hell at 'CL'

Before making his way out to Smith’s Olde Bar last night to share the stage with Jackie Chain and Edubb, Atlanta bass music legend Kilo Ali paid an after-hours visit to Creative Loafing’s office in Atlantic Station, and he was dressed like Pinhead from Hellraiser!

Cool way to end the day for sure: We talked about everything from what it was like growing up in Bankhead, way before the “Bankhead Bounce,” going to prison on arson-related charges, having no regrets, and readjusting to life in the free world. We talked about the 808 Fest coming up at Connect Lounge on August 8 as well. It was an epic Q&A session; keep an out for an interview to appear in an upcoming issue of CL.

In the meantime, the 808 Fest is a celebration of all things bass, so naturally Kilo is headlining the show, along with performances from Mighty High Coup, the Wheeler Boys, McBeezy, Ployd, Eddie Gold, Natasha Fox, Proto_cal the Super Producer, Tina Pittman, Padre Fisher, Sarah Sativa, Hyperion, Hypnotikk, DJ Exzile, D.R.E.S. tha Beatnik, and more.

808 Fest. Tickets are $10, and the show starts at 10 p.m. Wed., Aug. 8. Connect Lounge, 253 Auburn Ave.
