Local jazz duo Daysahead is slated to hit the Eddie’s Attic stage tonight, performing in the latest edition of the venue’s Songwriter's Open Mic.
The group — consisting of singer Kim Leachman-Wright and guitarist Steve Wright — has been gigging around town and around the nation (and the world, actually) since 2003, cranking out a mellow brand of soul-dipped fusion at clubs and festivals. And when we say "fusion" we're referring to, like, Tuck and Patti's funkier stuff ... not Dave Koz or crap like that.
Tonight, Kim and Steve are playing an unplugged set of old and new tunes for a chance to win a spot in the Attic's acclaimed Open Mic Shootout. Winners of the Shootout get awarded a bunch of prizes, including a concert at Eddie’s Attic; so if you dig jazz, pop on over and cheer on the Daysahead crew.
$6. 7 p.m. Eddie’s Attic, 515-B N McDonough St. ticketalternative.com.
