There’s a lot of soul going down in Atlanta this weekend.

First up, tonight (Aug. 17) catch acclaimed Cali-based pianist/vocalist Frank McComb, ATL vocalist Rhonda Thomas and local soul/house music icon DJ Kemit together in concert over at 595 North. Expect to hear Thomas belt out her brand of dance, soul and jazz tunes, and keep your ears peeled for McComb’s Donny Hathaway-esque vocal stylings.

Plus: Since Kemit is in the house, you’ll undoubtedly hear him and McComb perform “Funky 8 Ball” — a track they made together for Kemit’s recently released debut album, Everlasting. $20. 7 p.m. 595 North Event Venue & Lounge, 595 North Ave., NW. www.ticketalternative.com/Events/19650.aspx.

Then, Saturday (Aug. 18) Rhonda Thomas gets back on stage — his time at our PrintHouse headquarters here at Creative Loafing — to bring you a show featuring a trio of talented singers: Dallas’ Geno Young, Indianapolis’ Bashiri Asad and Atlanta's own “Glamsoul” artist Rahbi. DJ Rev Lee will also be on hand providing turntable support. $15. 8 p.m. Creative Loafing’s PrintHouse at Atlantic Station, 231 18th St., Ste. 8150. www.rhondasings.com.
