If you’ve been out wandering around the Atlanta Beltline recently you may have noticed a large pyramidal structure being erected along the western segment, near Ralph David Abernathy. Here’s what’s up: Local songstress Adron and her bandmates Colin Agnew and Mario Shambon are building the structure to be used in a video for the song “Pyramids” from her album Organismo. New York City-based independent filmmaker Barry Alexander Brown, who’s spent more than 20 years working as an editor on Spike Lee's films, will shoot the video in mid-October, but until then they need your money and your materials to make it happen. The idea is to bedazzle the pyramid with found objects and junk treasures, CDs, discarded kitchen appliances, old jewelry, and basically anything else that can be repurposed as an art-thing. If you’d like to donate your refuse, Adron and Co. are accepting — nothing larger than a box fan, though.

In the end, the pyramid will stand about 10’ high with a 16’ wide base, and since the plan was hatched earlier this year it has blossomed into an interdisciplinary project of sorts, earning a grant from the Beltline as a temporary art installation. “I’ve never done anything like this before, at least not on this scale, but it feels wholesome,” Adron says. “It feels like something that Atlanta needs, and it’s good and educational for me to do something so ambitious. Strategically, it feels like a worthwhile endeavor,” she adds. "Hopefully it will reach a lot of people on the Internet and generate some excitement.

Funds raised via Kickstarter will cover the cost of building materials, production, lighting, flying Brown to Atlanta for the video shoot, and ultimately dismantling and possibly reinstalling the pyramid somewhere else when all is said and done. If you're interested in donating materials, hit her up on Facebook, or send an e-mail to adronmusic@gmail.com.
